Effective – A natural bait attracts flies to the trap. The flies enter into the trap and do not die immediately; but their activity attracts other flies creating a “beehive” of fly activity additionally attracting more flies. After some time in the sun, the flies dehydrate and die inside of the trap.

Disposal – Simply slide-out the top and dump-out the dead flies is all that is required. Many users dump the dead flies in the garbage, use for chicken feed or spread in ponds for fish food.

Bait -Each new Cedar Solar Fly Traps come with a plastic bait dish that is placed under the trap and uses a yeast-based, safe bait mix. Each trap is also shipped with two packages of bait mix. In most areas this will provide enough bait for the trap for the entire season. Additional low cost bait is available for extended seasons, drier areas, and for refill of bait traps of previously purchased Cedar Solar Fly Traps. Each package of bait mix makes one-gallon of bait for filling the bait dish.
